Is the Palestinian situation similar to the Native American Indian situation?

I wanted to know if others thought the Palestinan situation and Native American Indian situation were the same. I googled this idea and found a blog which led me to a great article about this very idea.

""God Given Right"Palestine and Native America By ROBERT ROBIDEAUT""

the recent election windfall victory of Hamas has sent shock waves through the United States and the European Union. They swiftly announced their threat to withhold $400 million in aide if Hamas refused to recognize the state of Israel and disarm.Hamas, which has promoted itself as a militant alternative to the discredited Fatah government, now has to live up to its own rhetoric of providing an alternative to the long suffering Palestinian people.Mr Zahar, the leader of Hamas who rose to power in 1989, reportedly said, "Spies and thieves must fear us," and "thieves are those who steal our land".
As a member of the American Indian Movement, I know full well that the roads into the Americas were paved by thieves. It was A government spy sent to create internal disruption, who set the stage for the execution of Anna Mae Aquash, an icon in Indian country; and while over 150 government police terrorized communities on the Pine Ridge Oglala Lakota reservation in the summer of 1975, the federal government stole one eighth of the Pine Ridge reservation land.
The state of Israel sets on land that was originally Palestinian but Zionist movements in Europe and the United States claimed that the "land was given to them by God" and their belief that their race possessed some "natural superiority".
Euro- Americas pray to "god and country" and teach their future generations to pray homage to the gangsters, outlaws and thieves who stole the country from Indian nations in god,s name. The European idea that they possessed a "God given superiority" not only had brought them into conflict with the Palestinian people, but also North American Indian Nations in the 1800s.
In contrast, Euro-Americans and Europeans began their westward expansion of North America under the banner of manifest destiny. A belief that they had a "divinely inspired mission" to expand. Euro-American expansion meant the thief and occupation of Native American Indian lands. A big part of William Henry Harrison´s responsibility, who as the Territorial Governor of Indiana, was to obtain title to American Indian lands so that white settlement could expand in the area, asked the Indiana legislature: "Is one of the fairest portions of the globe to remain in a state of nature, the haunt of a few wretched savages, when it seems destined, by the Creator, to give support to a large population, and to be the sea of civilization, of science, and true religion?" Isn't this the Zionist attitude toward Palestine? The United States continued the European practice of recognizing only limited land rights of Native American Indians who they regarded as "savages" who stood in the way of Euro-American expansion.
The same mentality has prevailed with Israel people in their dealings with the Palestinian people. In the time of Manifest Destiny, this idea was clear and simple, "Indian Removal". The "Indian wars" between Native Indian Nations and Euro-American armies, which are now well recorded, ended in more then 300 treaties that won some tribes large sections of land, but today these lands have all but melted away into the hands of Euro-Americans.Euro-American's believed that Native American Indians were "destined to melt and vanish before the advancing waves of Anglo-American power..." but the large land sessions won by the Tribes through treaty in fact allowed future generations to survive, even as their lands continued to be lost through one passage after another of Congressional Acts that swindled tribes out of millions of acres of land.
Today Native lands have become checker boarded with Euro-American ownership and continue to be subject to Congressional Acts to defraud Native people of even more land and the natural resources. The Palestinian people continue to struggle through various groups like Hamas in self defense of their sovereignty and to keep their remaining lands. So too, has North American Indian people continued to struggle to keep what is left of their lands and recover stolen lands. The Federal Government offers the Lakota Nations 100´s of millions for their sacred Black Hills, but the Lakota people have refused the federal paper dollars, firmly stating, "Our sacred land is not for sale!"Of the numerous Native American Indian groups that have historically formed to confront the continued Euro-American intrusions into our lives and sovereign rights, the American Indian Movement (AIM) has become best known.
Like the PLO, Hamas and other Palestinian liberation groups, we too were criminalized by the invaders and thieves who attempt to undermine our rights as a liberation group with aggression, violence and name calling.
As with the Palestinians, we too will not be denied, through threats of violence, our right of self defense. On September 2005 the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched a three day aerial attacks killing and wounding Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip. An action by the Israel government to demoralize Palestinian victims through acts of terror are common tactics used by occupying forces. For 30 years Congress has failed to fully investigate their law enforcement agency the FBI´s role in the "Reign of Terror" on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota that resulted in 240 assaults and 60 murders in a 3 year period. It also failed to investigate the gross misconduct of the FBI in the case of Leonard Peltier, a member activist of the American Indian Movement who has now spent 30 years in federal prisons for defending the lives of his people against the violent and aggressive attacks of the FBI. The order to eliminate Mr. Peltier was apparently authorized by the federal government. If the United States and the European Union fail to buy Mr. Zahar out with "aid money", we can expect that they will use military units with similar powers given to law enforcement agencies here in the United States under the old Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) or the one now known as the Patriot Act to eliminate him in the name of God.United States history attest to the genocide of North American Indians and most educated Euro Americans and Europeans would agree that a genocide has been committed on this continent in the name of God and riches, but when it comes to the Muslim world the racism is disgusting.
The "Gods" must be crazy to think that their programs of racism and genocide will stop freedom fighters around the world from carrying on with their struggles for liberation and self defense.

QUIT-queers undermining israeli terrorism

Since mid-2001, QUIT! has been working, along with other Bay Area Palestine solidarity groups, to support the international Palestinian-led campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel.

(No, i'm not gay, but i did find this interesting, gays in America fighting against israel dirt and fighting for the rights of Palestinian people. Have a look at their victorias secret layout, did you know that Victoria secret lingerie company is israeli owned? proceeds some of which go to israel to kill Palestinians? )

"Valentine's Day 2007, we are proud to introduce our new Victoria's Secret Weapon line! Most of Victoria's Secret's bras and some of its other products are produced by the Israeli textile giant Delta Galil. "Delta Galil is the nation's largest manufacturer and marketer of textiles and is one of the largest private-label underwear manufacturers in the world," reports a 1999 article in The Jerusalem Post"

"Ronald Lauder, chairman of Estee Lauder International, serves as president of the Jewish National Fund, which was formed in 1901 to establish Jewish settlements by purchasing land from absentee landlords. After the state of Israel was formed, the JNF was made responsible for developing lands expropriated by the government, including 531 villages that were destroyed by a campaign of ethnic cleansing by Jewish terrorists working with the newly formed Israeli “Defense” Forces.
The JNF holds half the seats on the Israel Lands Council, that sets policy for the 93% of Israel’s land that is in the public domain. Palestinians, who are 20% of the Israeli population, are generally denied use of this land. The JNF has played a leading role in developing settlements in the occupied territories, and is currently conducting projects that are displacing Bedouin Arabs in the Negev in Israel."

QUIT against starbucks:

"The group selected Starbucks for the location of their first settlement in Berkeley because Starbucks founder and CEO, Howard Shultz, is a major supporter of the Israeli state and the corporation has become the prime target of an international boycott of corporations with ties to Israel (www.inminds.co.uk/boycott-israel.html). “Since Mr. Shultz clearly believes it is okay for one group of people to grab land belonging to another and say they have a right to it, we figure he won’t mind if we take some of his,” a QUIT leaflet explains."

The Stolen Land---the Proof

How much more evidence does one need than this? a picture is worth a thousand words.

Freedom Theatre in Ramallah-Palestine

"These past seven years have seen a growing outrage among supporters of Palestine in the United States and around the world, accompanied by an even greater amazement at the strength and courage of the Palestinian people. Such outrage and amazement has engendered a growing determination to do more in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their resistance to the Occupation and their insistence on leading normal lives under brutal conditions.

As Juliano told us when we met him, the Freedom Theater is part of that resistance and determination. We therefore have been working to build a small but effective organization here to carry on various activities in support of your and Juliano’s work, including fundraising and awareness-building.

We see our organization as more than a project, however–we see it as a relationship with the people of Jenin. Several of us have already visited the Jenin Refugee Camp; many of you have met them. Others will follow. As we continue with our work, we look forward to seeing this relationship grow and develop. We have each seen something special in the Freedom Theater and in the people of the Jenin Refugee camp, and we intend to maintain our relationship with you for many years to come.

In solidarity,

The Friends of the Jenin Freedom Theater"

Saudi parents, do u know where your girls are????

Today i was in a coffee shop at a mall in Al khobar. It was bad enough that the shop allowed smoking, but even worse to see that it seems to be the Saudi smoker girl hang out. In come the girls with their abaya, and niqab. They sit down and take off their abaya, niqab, hijab and replace them with a jacket, pull out their cigarettes and have a smoke. In addition to smoking the girls were taking pictures of themselves with their cell phone cameras, hmm, i wonder why, possibly sending thru mms? I guess the girls established this particular coffee shop (joffrey's-rashid mall) as their personal smoking hangout. This is not the first time that I have encountered these brazen saudi girls (brazen behavior for saudi arabia!) it has become quite common now to see the scenario of loud, obnoxious, smoking saudi girls. Hey parents of saudi girls, let me break the news to u, IT IS NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO RAISE A GOOD GIRL IN KSA! The society here dictates how the girls dress in public and how they should act in public, so what is your great difficulty in keeping tabs on your girls, knowing where they are and how they're behaving? And girls, wake up, with soo many Saudi women covering their faces here, its very likely that one of your families friends might see you and you don;t even know it! likely that they might report back to your families about what you have been up to in your free time. I have my own teen girls to worry about, so, for now i'll stop worrying about other peoples girls, but hey girls, plz do me a favor and stop smoking in coffee shops and ruining the air for me. Oh , one more thing---smoking makes u smell bad, makes your fingernails yellow, makes your teeth yellow, makes your skin age fast and gives u a nasty cough and raspy smokers voice! its just not cool at all! the end:-)

Are you ready to hear the truth about Saudi Arabia?

Ok, this is my question, are you really ready to hear the truth about Saudi arabia, and the Saudi people? if your answer is yes, then read on.
As an American who has lived here for the past 19 years, and one who has lived in the U.S for the previous years, i know what Americans are thinking about Saudi's and i know the stereotypes they have in mind.

Lets see if I can get this right---you think Saudi's, esp men are terrorists, you think they ride camels and live in tents, you think that all Saudi men marry many wives and beat them? you think that the average Saudi woman is pregnant all the time and does not leave her home? Oh, here is one i heard from an American woman years ago---she said if a husband and wife are out together in public and he falls down, his wife is not allowed to help him up, another good one---the woman here walks several paces behind her husband.

Now lets get to the part where i clear up the misconcenptions. No, the men here are not terrorists with the exception of a very small number whom the rest of the population condem and turn in if they have the chance. I wonder--would American men be considered terrorists since they are famous for killing their wives and unborn kids, shooting kids in schools, malls, restaurants, churches? No, we would not think to judge every american man by the heinous crimes of a few. But why then are we ready to judge every saudi man based on what a few have done?

On to the next questoin, no, saudi people for the most part don;t live in tents or drive camels. They live in modern homes which are usually much nicer than the average american home (by the way), they drive luxury vehicles such as mercedez, bmw, audi (among the favorites here), but they also drive toyota, gmc, ford just like the average american.

As for beating wives---that is unacceptable in Islam so if he does it, he will be punished for it. I saw a public service announcement on a u.s. channel that said the leading cause of death for pregnant american woman is death at the hands of her husband or boyfriend. Just think about how many pregnant women have been killed by their american husbands or boyfriends, just recently a pregnant marine woman was killed by her boyfriend. One of many!

Yes, saudi families in general have many more children than the average western family, they also welcome their elderly parents to live with them or a relative who needs help. I feel that this is one reason the suicide and depression rate is soo low here compared to u.s., when a child comes home from school, he or she does not enter an empty home as many of American kids do. Picture a child coming home from school in saudi arabia, he walks into the home and sees his baby sister, brother, a housekeeper, maybe grandmother, or maybe mom, he won;t have time to get depressed, or get into trouble with all of those eyes watching him. People here in Saudi (generally) welcome their extended family to live with them when needed. This idea of taking care of extended family is a great benefit to the society because everyone is well taken care of, you don;t have people wandering around town in an alcholic stupor. Everyone here feels valued whether they be babies or elderly.

How does the average saudi woman spend her time? she has a choice to work or not to work, many women here do work as teachers (getting off at 1 pm), doctors, business people and many other occupations. If she chooses to stay home then she does and usually has a maid to help her. I have come to this conclusion: Saudi women have it much better in life than the average american woman who works two jobs, one outside and one inside the home, why do u think the rate of cancer and heart disease is soo high among American women versus Saudi women?

Last but not least, do Saudi women walk several paces behind their husbands? Only if he's a fast walker and she's taking her time to enjoy the view! That notion is not even part of Saudi culture--perhaps you were confusing them with another culture. Many Saudi husbands and wives walk holding hands and talking, many walk with several kids between them, many walk together in silence just as American husbands and wives do. The role model for Saudi men( and all Muslim men) is Prophet Mohammed (may peace be upon him), and this role model always had the upmost value for women and treated them as valued and treasured members of society. He condoned treating women with the most kindness and respect. Any man who aspires to be at least half as good to women as Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) was, would indeed be a great and well loved husband.

Any questions are welcome.
